Preoccupations
Taking my mind from work is difficult, but a few obsessions manage to do so on occasion.
Music. My Morning Jacket, Beck, Shoshana Bean, Ghost Hounds, The Shins, KoL, Coldplay, Band of Horses, John Mayer, Vampire Weekend, Spoon, Nelly, Mary J. Blige, Vestal Goodman (seriously,) Flight of the Conchords, Jill Scott, Randy Crawford, Common, Duffy.
Hiking. Currently a novice hiker working toward the goal of completing the San Jacinto Mountains Cactus to Clouds trail. Check here for updates, (or obituary.)
Dogs. I never met a dog I didn’t like. Both of mine are insane but they put up with my travel schedule, so what the heck.
Travel. Living in Belgium during graduate school left me with a rapacious appetite for travel. Everyone should live in a foreign country if possible, and travel as often as feasible. T makes you a better person.
